Prof. Dr/ Atef El-Din is considered one of the prominent academic leaders in the field of engineering and higher education in Egypt, possessing extensive scientific and administrative experience in higher education institutions and playing an active role in developing the educational and research processes and enhancing the quality of university education. He has held numerous academic positions.

He obtained a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Power Engineering, a Master's degree in Engineering from Menoufia University, and a PhD in Engineering from Leningrad University in the Soviet Union. He also contributed significantly to scientific research by publishing nearly forty scientific papers in his fields of expertise.

He has held numerous academic and leadership positions, including Vice President of Port Said University for Education and Student Affairs, Vice President of Suez Canal University for Port Said Branch, and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, in addition to his membership in the Supreme Council of Universities and numerous specialized scientific committees. He also serves as a member of the Egyptian Senate and a member of the Committee on Education, Scientific Research and Communication Technology.

He currently serves as the Acting President of East Port Said National University starting from August 2024, continuing his efforts to support the development of the educational process, enhance scientific research, and serve the community.
