As part of East Port Said National University's commitment to supporting innovation, promoting sustainability concepts, and strengthening the link between academic study and practical application, the university, through the Faculty of Pharmacy, announced the launch of
the "Organic Chemistry: Applied Projects - Recycle Day 2026" competition, under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Atef Alam El-Din, University President, and under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohamed Yasser, Director of the Pharmacy Program, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rogie Reda Mohamed Ezz El-Din.
The competition serves as an applied educational platform designed to encourage Faculty of Pharmacy students to present innovative projects that transform theoretical concepts into practical, applicable solutions, strengthening their role in community service and contributing to addressing environmental challenges.
The competition is scheduled to be organized through student teams, with each team comprising 30 students who will work collaboratively to design and implement applied models and recycling-based projects that make use of available resources, such as converting used oils into environmentally friendly products, extracting natural materials from waste, and producing sustainable alternatives that can be used in various fields.
The competition also contributes to developing students' scientific thinking and innovation skills, strengthening their ability to work in teams, and refining their presentation and communication skills by presenting their projects before specialized committees in a positive competitive environment that encourages creativity and highlights excellence.
The university affirms that organizing this competition is part of its strategy to prepare student cadres capable of connecting academic knowledge with practical application and contributing effectively to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
Participating projects are scheduled to be submitted on May 1, 2026, with each entry including a practical model or applied experiment accompanied by a brief presentation.
