The Board of Trustees of East Port Said National University held its tenth meeting today, Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Port Said University, chaired by Eng. Ibrahim Mahlab, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, with the participation of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Hassan El-Kenawy, Vice Chairman of the Board; Prof. Dr. Atef Alam El-Din; Prof. Dr. Sherif Saleh; and the attendance of the board members.
The session opened with Eng. Ibrahim Mahlab welcoming the attendees. He thanked Major General Staff Mohab Habashi in appreciation of his efforts and congratulated Major General Ibrahim Abu Limoun on joining the Board of Trustees. He also congratulated the university community, including faculty members, staff, and students, on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr.
The session discussed several vital files that reflect the university's direction toward providing a modern and advanced educational model based on quality and innovation, in line with labor market requirements. The board reviewed a range of academic, financial, and administrative topics as part of the continuous effort to develop the educational system and enhance institutional performance efficiency.
The main discussion areas included supporting university students through mechanisms that facilitate the educational process and provide a stimulating environment, in addition to supporting and developing academic cadres in a way that raises the scientific and research level. The board also discussed approving several new appointments and assignments, reviewed financial and organizational files that support the educational process, and established rules and controls governing student scholarships.
At the conclusion of the session, Prof. Dr. Atef Alam El-Din affirmed that East Port Said National University is moving steadily toward consolidating its position as a leading educational institution. He stressed that supporting students and upgrading academic competencies are among its top priorities, contributing to preparing qualified cadres capable of competing locally and regionally and achieving the Egyptian state's vision of building an aware person qualified for the requirements of the future.
