Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Atef Alam El-Din, President of East Port Said National University, and under the supervision of Dr. Sherine El-Khouly, Director of the Medicine and Surgery Program, and Dr. Nesreen Farouk, Lecturer of Public Health and Community Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, Port Said University, students of the Student Research Initiative (SRI), affiliated with the Students for Egypt family and headed by student Toqa Essam, participated in the activities of The 13th Student Research Conference at the Faculty of Medicine, Suez Canal University.
The university students achieved a distinguished scientific accomplishment when one of their research papers, entitled:
“The prevalence of Hidden Migraine among undergraduate students at East Port Said National University and their level of awareness”
won second place at the conference level, an achievement that reflects their research excellence and their ability to compete in scientific forums.
The research was prepared by students Islam Eid, Nada Amr Ali, Mariam Ezzat Ibrahim, Mariam Mohamed Amer, Hanin El-Sayed Mohamed, and Ahmed Abu Shady, with supportive academic supervision that contributed to developing their research skills.
The participation also reflected a strong scientific presence, as students from the initiative presented seven research papers across diverse medical and research fields, demonstrating an advanced academic standard and strong competitive capacity among the university's students.
In this context, Prof. Dr. Atef Alam El-Din, University President, expressed his pride in this achievement, emphasizing that students' distinction in research forums is a direct reflection of the quality of the educational process within the university and of their capacity for creativity and competition.
He added:
"You are the true pride of the university, and what has been achieved today is the result of your dedication and determination to excel. Scientific research is the path toward a better future, and I am confident that you are capable of achieving further successes that raise the university's name and serve our nation and community."
This achievement crowns the efforts of the university's students and its continuous support for research activities, as part of its strategy to prepare distinguished medical professionals capable of innovation and effective contribution to the development of the healthcare sector.
