
In another step reflecting East Port Said National University's commitment to preparing highly qualified healthcare professionals equipped with knowledge, practical skills, and hands-on experience, students of the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences participated in a field training program at Saudi German Hospital – Cairo, under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Atef Alam Eldin, President of the University, and the supervision of Dr. Salma Khairallah, Director of the Medical Laboratory Technology Programs.
This training is part of the University's strategy to strengthen the integration of academic learning with practical application by providing students with outstanding training opportunities at leading healthcare institutions, enabling them to develop their professional competencies in line with the latest international standards.
Saudi German Hospitals is one of the largest private healthcare networks in the Middle East and North Africa, with more than three decades of experience. The network operates a wide range of hospitals and specialized medical centers across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the Arab Republic of Egypt, Yemen, and Morocco, reflecting its leading position in delivering world-class healthcare services in accordance with the latest international standards.
Throughout the training program, students gained valuable insight into the hospital's operational system and explored the latest medical technologies and equipment used across various departments, further strengthening their ability to bridge academic knowledge with real-world clinical practice.
Students also received practical training in the hospital's laboratories, where they became familiar with advanced laboratory analyzers, sample handling procedures, laboratory testing techniques, and equipment operation. In addition, they gained hands-on experience in applying Quality Control (QC) procedures and adhering to laboratory safety and biosafety protocols under the supervision of experienced laboratory specialists. This practical exposure significantly enhanced their technical competencies and prepared them to meet the demands of the healthcare profession.
